Worship & Teaching Style

Adult Worship
We desire our service to be worshipful and reverential. Our heart cry is to worship Jesus in simplicity, sincerity, spirit & truth. To this end, our worship is contemporary, theologically rich and doctrinally sound. We place a great emphasis on excellence in anything we attempt for our All-wise, All-powerful, All-good God --- including our worship.

Adult Instruction

Sharing directly from the Scriptures we incorporate line-upon-line, expositional teaching. Since this is the way God chose to write and preserve the Scriptures for us, we believe this is the primary way He would have us to learn from them.

This simple, time-tested approach allows us to better understand the Scriptures in their linguistic, historic and cultural contexts, as well as to better understand the writer’s original intent. It also allows us to learn about God: His character, His thoughts towards us, and how He would have us to live.

We then seek to personally apply the text in a practical manner by making it relevant to our own, daily lives.

This approach is used by such renowned Bible scholars & teachers as Dr. David Jeremiah, Chip Ingram, Dr. John MacArthur, the late Dr. Vernon McGee, Chuck Smith, and Dr. Charles Swindoll.

Communion

Communion is typically the 5th Sunday morning of those months containing a fifth Sunday. (Other times will be as the Holy Spirit leads).

Communion is a time for remembering, receiving, and sharing the loveliness of Christ and His church. At HCCF we practice "Open Communion" and it is open to all believers in Jesus Christ regardless of denominational background. It is a dedicated time of intimate worship, personal cleansing, and koinonia (biblical community). (Preteens will remain in the service with their families).

Communion and Water Baptism are the only two "ordinances" instituted by Jesus as a memorial and corporate expression of faith and community for His church.
